Day 4 – April 27th

Today HAB finished moving our application equipment from Augusta Lake to Sunfish and are ready to begin the Sunfish application.  We also got to meet and provide a tour of the alum application operation and an overview of the project goals to numerous community visitors.  We had the opportunity to lead a discussion on the role phosphorus in lakes, internal loading of phosphorus, and the benefits of alum in reducing phosphorus concentrations and improving water quality.  HAB then provided a tour and overview of our application equipment and the technology used to ensure a precise and safe application.  It is great to see so much interest in getting the water quality at Augusta and Sunfish back to acceptable conditions and available for the community to use.  It was a passionate and entertaining group with a lot of great questions!
